We compared 7-Zip with WinRAR 5.20.
FILE SETS: Mozilla Firefox 34.0.5 for Windows and Google Earth 6.2.2.6613 for Windows.

Compression ratio results are very dependent upon the data used for the tests. Usually, 7-Zip compresses to 7z format 30-70% better than to zip format. And 7-Zip compresses to zip format 2-10% better than most of other zip compatible programs.
Step 2: Extraction options and password
Once the input archive is selected in step 1, PeaExtractor shows an user-friendly option screen allowing to customize decompression task. Once needed options are set confirm extraction with 'OK' button.
Options, from the top:
'Extract to' field sets output directory; from dropdown menu on the left it is possible to browse it in system's file explorer
Naming policies dropdown sets if existing files should be overwritten by extracted files, or skipped, or renamed (or if extracted files should be renamed instead)
'Extract to new folder' checkbox sets creation of a new directory to extract the data in, which also avoid possibility of aforementioned naming conflicts
'Password' filed allows enter a password or passphrase (password composed of more words, separated by spaces) for decryption of encrypted archive.
PeaExtractor supports unpacking of various encrypted file formats: 7Z, ARC, PEA, RAR, ZIP, and ZIPX.
ZIP format allows different cryptography standards, PeaExtractor supports ZipCrypto (legacy archives), PKZip's AES-based encryption, and WinZip AE.
Keyfile filed is optional and can be activated if it is needed to decrypt a file created by PeaZip (.7z, .arc, .pea, .zip) using two-factor authentication encryption.
